Library

Welcome to the HBJS Library.

Our school library is a wonderful place which is well-stocked, highly valued and used extensively by the children. We have over 6000 books available for pupils to read and borrow, as well as an age appropriate selection of comics, magazines and newspapers.

In addition to the main library, there are books available in the year 3 and year 4 shared areas, making access easier for younger pupils.

Pupils are able to borrow up to three books at a time for two weeks, two of which will be their Accelerated Reader books. The third book can be any other book of their choice from our wide range of books available in the library.

The library is open at lunchtimes with each year group having a day assigned to them for book changing and quiet reading. Pupils are expected to respect the resources and library environment; they are encouraged to make suggestions for new books and improvements to the space.

Keeping the library clean and tidy is a responsibility we all share.

If you would like advice or suggestions on what to read next, you can speak with one of our four friendly Year 6 children who work in the library as they will be happy to help out.
