Year 3 Dover Castle Trip
Year 3 enjoyed their trip to Dover Castle! We had fun exploring the underground tunnels through our expertly led guided tours and learnt so much about the 3.8 miles of tunnel, some of which was dug out by hand! In addition to this, we also thoroughly enjoyed exploring the Great Tower and some of us even sat on the King's Throne!
We also spent time handling different items in the Command Post and enjoyed some impressive views of Dover from a variety of different viewpoints. Inside the church, we saw some beautiful stain glass windows and also learnt about the memorials to solders who fought in the war. Impressively, we also saw a Roman lighthouse which is the oldest surviving lighthouse in Britain and one of the oldest in the entire World!
The children had a wonderful day and were full of enthusiasm and excitement for all the activities on offer to them.
