Schools' Parliament held at Herne Bay High School
Today HBJS's School Council participated in the Schools' Parliament held at Herne Bay High School.
The focus for the day was Healthy Young Minds. The children engaged in a range of activities; yoga, puzzle and word games and an e-safety game run by some Year 6 children. A discussion about whether we treat our minds well as our bodies was also raised, the children were able to understand that they should.
At the end of the morning there was time to reflect on their own use of 'Screen Time' and that of their parents. They were encouraged to suggest that they play a game with their family, and put the phones down for a while.
It was a message for the Staff and parents attending too, let's talk and play more and turn the screens off!
