ZooLab visit Year 6!

It’s not every day you get to see a number of creepy crawlies that live within depths of the rainforest – let alone handle them. However, for the Year 6 children at HBJS, a visit from Zoo Lab made this possible. Zoo Lab brought in a variety of animals, some of which they were even allowed to handle – with care of course. We found out all of the ingenious ways that these creatures manage to protect themselves.

Of all the new things the children found about the various animals and insects they came in contact with on the day, the African cockroach’s survival ability had to be one of the most fascinating. This giant cockroach – as commonly referred to – can survive almost anything, including being put in the oven!
