Able Writers Day

On the 28th November, eight children from across year 5 and 6 had the opportunity to work with children's poet, Brian Moses for an able writers day. They took part in activities that encouraged their minds to broaden and think beyond the obvious in order to create imaginative and thought provoking poetry.

Ramshackle House at the Gulbenkien

On Friday our Year 5 children enjoyed a trip to the Gulbenkien where they watched a performance called ‘Ramshackle House’. Then on Saturday a number of children took part in the pre-show curtain raiser performance, using the skills that they had learnt from the ‘Upswing’ circus performers who visited the school last week.

We love Arty Friday!

On Friday 17th November, across the whole school, children took part in the nationwide Big Draw event.
Using the event’s theme, Living Lines, classes enthusiastically experienced a window of time dedicated purely to art.

Year 4 Visit the Turner Gallery

On Wednesday and Thursday our Year 4 children visited the Turner Gallery to take part in an Art project. They were exploring the work of the artist Jean Arp whose work is currently being exhibited at the gallery.

Rocking Readers

To recognise the time the children are devoting to their reading in school and at home, we have introduced a new weekly award which will be presented in assembly every Friday.
