On Thursday HBJS was transformed into a magical land full of storybook heroes, villains, animals and much more. All pupils (and many staff) embraced the opportunity to dress as the character from a book and as usual we were astounded by the originality and creativity of the costumes. Thank you parents and carers!

In addition to dressing up children in each year group enjoyed taking part in various book related activities, such as a literary scavenger hunt in Year 4 and writing the sequel to the popular Oliver Jeffers picture book "The day the Crayons Quit" in Year 5.
World Book Day also marked the end of the travelling book fair which was once again hugely popular. Don't forget if your child didn't manage to spend their £1 book voucher these can still be redeemed in the books shops in town.
